Why Do I Feel Anxious All the Time?
Updated: Sep 1
Before exploring your own anxiety, it's important to understand what anxiety actually is.
Anxiety is our nervous system's way of scanning for, detecting, and protecting us from danger. Whether that be a perceived threat or an immediate one. Anxiety alarms us when we are not safe.
Our main goal in working with anxiety is to teach your body how to feel safe. However, when alarm bells go off, we have to investigate first.
If you feel anxious all the time, the best way to stop is to work with a therapist on what is causing the anxiety.
It's always important to rule out Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), as this can explain unexplainable worry. But if it's not GAD, then your body is telling you something isn't right.
It could be unprocessed trauma coming back up, or work pressure/financial stress, or conflict with your partner that leads to relational anxiety.
Or a million other things...
Whatever it is, we'll get to the bottom of it.
